Newsmap 최종버전 공개, 뉴스제공에 UI를 더욱 개선하다.

디자이너 엔지니어인 Marcos Weskampi가 그동안 Project로 진행해오던 뉴스맵(Newsmap)서비스를 정식 버전으로 공개했습니다. 기존 Marumushi Project 에서 시범적으로 구글 뉴스를 aggregator 방식으로 보여주던 newsmap이 정식적인 도메인을 달고 정식 서비스를 진행했네요.

위의 모습이 정식으로 도메인을 달고 서비스를 하는 Newsmap 입니다. 카테고리 별로, 상단에는 14개 지역을 표기하여 각 지역별 7개 카테고리 뉴스를 선택적으로 볼 수 있습니다.

Newsmap의 새로워진 면은 뉴스 내용이 있는 Square를 선택하면 뉴스에 대한 간략한 내용을 이미지와 간략한 텍스트로 노출하는 부분입니다. 이 부분을 통해서 기존 Newsmap과 다른 면을 느낄 수 있습니다. 물론 뉴스는 새창에서 열립니다.

Newsmap is an application that visually reflects the constantly changing landscape of the Google News news aggregator. A treemap visualization algorithm helps display the enormous amount of information gathered by the aggregator. Treemaps are traditionally space-constrained visualizations of information. Newsmap's objective takes that goal a step further and provides a tool to divide information into quickly recognizable bands which, when presented together, reveal underlying patterns in news reporting across cultures and within news segments in constant change around the globe.

Newsmap does not pretend to replace the googlenews aggregator. Its objective is to simply demonstrate visually the relationships between data and the unseen patterns in news media. It is not thought to display an unbiased view of the news; on the contrary, it is thought to ironically accentuate the bias of it.
